We had the honour of capturing Ruth and Robert’s magical wedding day in Varenna, on Lake Como’s eastern shores, and thought we’d share some of the highlights from their special day.
The couple, from the UK, wanted a journalistic-style photographer in Italy, and chose us to capture their story.
We joined Ruth and Robert at 2pm on their big day. First on the agenda was photographing the couple and their two adorable children, Dexter and Rose, getting ready at Villa Lucia in Cadenabbia, and then making their way to their ceremony in style on traditional Italian boats.

Their wedding ceremony took place in Villa Cipressi’s beautiful flower-filled gardens, in Varenna, overlooking the lake. We got plenty of pre-wedding shots of the venue before the couple arrived and, of course, photographed the ‘I do’s’, the signing of the register and cocktails and canapés that followed.
It was then time for the new newlyweds to board a boat and cross to the lake’s western shores, for their ceremony in Cadenabbia. Their family and friends got a taste of the high-life action, too, and followed on a separate boat.

The party arrived at the postcard-pretty Lucia Estate just after 6pm for more cocktails and canapés – well, why not! – followed by a wonderful al fresco wedding dinner, the speeches and dancing. As with Ruth and Robert’s ceremony, we arrived ahead of the guests to photograph the venue before they arrived.
As you can see, with our wedding photography it’s all in the detail. As well as bringing the emotion and atmosphere of the day to life, we also catch all the little things you might otherwise miss on your big day.
Ruth and Robert, along with their family and friends, had a wonderful wedding day in Italy, as you can see – the pictures speak for themselves!
